THE SOUL OF A FILE

Virtual Entity aims to develop a system were every file can have a soul, which exists and is accessible in a parallel web, the souls repository, accessible via browser or via a specific command line application.

The sould of a file is a set of metadata plus an editable and illimitate space for information exchange.

From every instance of a file you can access its soul, so the metadata.

If you edit the soul, your text will be readable from every existing instance of the file entity.

(KERNEL + LOGS = SOUL)

kernel = written by the file creator

logs = aura, editable by anybody

The kernel is containing some metadata editable only by the original creator (is there an absolute creator of a file?).

Logs are a sort of editable wiki open for comments and documentations by users of the file.

A user of a file is not obliged to read the soul or edit it.

It is a possibility that files released under this system are offering.

The souls repository, at least on a prototyping level, can be accessed and edited using a command line soul surfer or a browser. It is not meant to be browser based.

Every file copy contains the address of the soul (space that is expandable…)

(MD5 like authentication for keycode)-→ check file integrity
